Vacancy Detail

Sales Executive

Greys Specialist Recruitment are working on behalf of an established fuel, energy and infrastructure specialist who are looking to recruit four Sales Executives as part of an ambitious growth plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business at a key stage of expansion. The company supports customers with the full lifecycle of fuel systems and associated infrastructure, including inspection, testing, maintenance, cleaning, repair, upgrades and planned asset management. Their services are designed to help customers improve reliability, compliance and long-term infrastructure performance.

The Role

As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for speaking with large, multi-site organisations to identify opportunities across their fuel and energy infrastructure.

The focus is not just high-volume calling. You will be expected to have quality-led, consultative conversations with customers, complete fact-finds, identify potential needs and book site audits or appointments for the Commercial Managers.

Typical target customers may include supermarkets, fuel station forecourts, facilities management providers, fuel companies, logistics operators, transport businesses, utilities, commercial property groups, public sector sites and other organisations with fuel storage, tank, pipework or energy infrastructure requirements.

The initial conversation may begin with a site audit, but the wider opportunity is to uncover where the customer may require maintenance, cleaning, refreshing, testing, repair, upgrade or wider project support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to prospective and existing customers, with a focus on quality conversations and genuine opportunity creation.
  • Contact blue-chip and multi-site organisations to understand their current fuel, tank, pipework and infrastructure requirements.
  • Book site audits, appointments and fact-finding meetings for the Commercial Management team.
  • Take and action inbound sales enquiries, identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the full service portfolio.
  • Build knowledge across the company’s services, including fuel testing, tank cleaning, fuel polishing, tank installation, fuel infrastructure, pipework, decommissioning and emergency spill response.
  • Prepare accurate quotes using internal systems, ensuring customer details, pricing, purchase orders and credit procedures are followed correctly.
  • Support Project Planners and Project Managers with quotes for larger project opportunities.
  • Work closely with marketing campaigns to follow up inbound opportunities and generate appointments.
  • Manage and develop customer relationships to create repeat sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records, pipeline updates and customer information.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a confident, articulate and commercially minded Sales Executive who enjoys speaking with customers and uncovering opportunities.

You do not need to be a fuel infrastructure expert from day one, but you must be willing to learn the product range properly. This is a consultative sales role, so the best people will be naturally curious, comfortable asking questions and able to understand where a customer may have wider needs across their estate.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in telesales, internal sales, lead generation, account management or business development.
  • Confidence making outbound calls and speaking with decision-makers.
  • A consultative approach, with the ability to fact-find rather than simply read from a script.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
  • The ability to handle a high-volume call environment while maintaining quality.
  • Good attention to detail when compiling quotes and customer information.
  • A proactive attitude and desire to progress into a more senior commercial role.
  • Experience in fuel, energy, infrastructure, environmental services, facilities management, utilities, waste management, construction, logistics or industrial services would be advantageous.

Package

  • £30,000 basic salary.
  • Commission scheme.
  • Full-time, office-based role in Padiham, near Burnley.
  • Clear progression pathway into a Commercial Manager position.
  • Training on products, services and customer sectors.
  • Opportunity to join a growing company at an exciting stage of expansion.
  • Supportive team environment with strong commercial leadership.

Working Pattern

Full-time, office-based.
